The Kirk Adaptive Reuse

Status: DA Approved
The Kirk Adaptive Reuse envisioned the transformation of a deconsecrated church into a vibrant community arts and entertainment venue. The scheme reinstated the existing hall as a multipurpose space, with artist-in-residence accommodation above and a workshop below. To ensure long-term viability, a 26-room residence was introduced at the rear, complemented by a café and bar at ground level. The design balanced the restoration of the historic church with new programs that linked community benefit to financial sustainability.
